In an effort to reduce the rise in premium for the Touro Group (TouroCOM, Touro Pharmacy, NYMC and TCDM) student insurance plan, Touro University Systems reviewed proposals from multiple insurance carriers and has selected Aetna Student Health (ASH) for the 2020/2021 school year.

The Touro Group/NYMC Sponsored Health Insurance Plan is a Preferred Provider Plan (PPO) that has been designed specifically for NYMC students and is underwritten by Aetna Student Health (ASH). With an emphasis on wellness, the plan is designed to provide full coverage for medical care including annual routine physicals and immunizations.  The Touro Group/NYMC student health insurance plan offers both in-network and out-of-network benefits, it is an ACA compliant Platinum level plan.

All students will be charged for student only coverage in the NYMC Sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan prior to the start of each academic year. The charge to the student's account will be removed if an approved waiver is granted.

Waiver Process For the 2020/2021 Academic Year

If you have active domestic health insurance with benefits which meet the criteria listed in the Waiver section you may apply for waiver of enrollment in the Touro Group/NYMC student health plan. Once you have submitted the required information you will receive an email verifying if your waiver meets all requirements set forth for the NYMC requirements.  If you are a continuing student and have a waiver approved for the 2019/2020 policy year, you DO NOT need to submit a waiver for the 2020/2021 Policy year, unless your coverage information has changed.  The insurance coverage information that is on file for you will be re-verified.  If your coverage is found to be inactive or out of compliance you will receive notice from HSAC. You must submit your waiver request by your required deadline or you will be automatically enrolled in the Touro Group/NYMC Student Insurance Plan. Late Waivers will  not be accepted.
